VB: Schooley Records Career High Kills and Assists In Loss To HCU

LAKE CHARLES--  McNeese volleyball fell in four sets (25-17, 25-18, 19-25, 25-21) to Houston Christian in a Southland Conference match Thursday.  HCU jumped out to a 2-0 lead by winning the first two sets, but the Cowgirls avoided the sweep with the third set 25-19 win before the Huskies ended the match with a 25-21 fourth set win.
 
The loss drops the Cowgirls to 7-12 overall and 3-4 in the SLC.  HCU improves to 7-11 overall and 4-3 in the SLC.
 
McNeese will remain home for a 1 p.m. match Saturday against Incarnate Word.  Saturday's match against UIW will be the second of the season and the only conference match of the season.  Both teams met at the Cowgirl Classic with UIW coming from behind to pick up a 3-2 win after the Cowgirls held a 2-1 set lead.
 
 
POST MATCH NOTES
• McNeese ended the match with a .204 hitting percent and HCU with a .302 hitting percent.
• The Huskies hit over .300 in three of four sets, including a .415 in set two
McKenzie Moore and Lacie Schooley both ended the match with a double double
• Moore led all players with 19 kills
• Moore also had 10 digs and a season high three aces
• Schooley recorded career highs with 14 kills and 19 assists
Bailey Tillman led all players with a season high 28 digs  
• Kamaya Webb led McNeese with three blocks
Megan Grose was credited with 16 assists
