COLLEGE STATION – McNeese cross country will run in its final meet before the Southland Conference Championships on Friday when both the Cowboys and Cowgirls take part in the annual Texas A&M Arturo Barrios Invitational.
 
The men will run an 8k beginning at 8:30 a.m. followed by the women's 6k at 9:15 at the Watts Cross Country Course.
 
McNeese is one of 40 men's and women's teams entered, joining the host Texas A&M, Abilene Christian, Arizona State, Arkansas State, Baylor, Boise State, Central Arkansas, Charleston Southern, Colorado (women), Delaware (women), Eastern Michigan, Georgia Tech, Gonzaga, Houston, Houston Christian, Incarnate Word, Lamar, Louisiana, Mercer, Middle Tennessee State, New Mexico State, New Orleans, Nicholls State, North Dakota, North Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, Rice, Sam Houston, SMU (women), Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Texarkana, Tarleton State, TCU, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas State, Texas Tech, UT-Arlington, UTSA and Youngstown State.
 
Men's teams that are ranked in their respective regions include: Incarnate Word (4^th), TCU (5^th), Texas A&M (6^th), Houston (7^th), Stephen F. Austin (8^th), Rice (9^th), Lamar (10^th), Arkansas State (11^th), UT Arlington (12^th), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (13^th) and Sam Houston (14^th) in the South Central Region; Georgia Tech (10^th) and Middle Tennessee (13^th) in the South Region; Texas Tech (10^th) and New Mexico State (15^th) in the Mount Region; Oklahoma (12^th) in the Midwest Region; Youngstown State (12^th) and Eastern Michigan (13^th) in the Great Lakes Region; Charleston Southern (15^th) in the Southeast Region; and Gonzaga (6^th) and Boise State (8^th) in the West Region.
 
Regionally ranked teams entered in the meet for the women include: Texas A&M (6^th), Rice (7^th), Lamar (8^th), TCU (9^th), Houston (10^th), New Orleans (11^th), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (12^th), Houston Christian (13^th), Arkansas State (14^th) and Central Arkansas (15^th) in the South Central Region; Georgia Tech (7^th) in the South Region; Texas Tech (7^th), Colorado (11^th) and New Mexico State (12^th) in the Mountain Region; Oklahoma (6^th) in the Midwest Region; Eastern Michigan (11^th) in the Great Lakes Region; and Gonzaga (3^rd) and Boise State (5^th) in the West Region.
 
Entered to run for the Cowgirls will be Jeny Barcenas, Irene Barreiro-Lopez, Uxue Castro-Martin, Grace French, Thea Pappas, Danielle Salinas and Grace Sullivan.
 
The Cowboys' entries include John Patrick Bartle, James Boutte, Abdullah Elkhair, Sullivan Hanna, Kevin Kimaiyo, Owen Kirkland, Alex Martin, Ryan McCarthy, Rolando Ortiz and Filippo Squassina.
 
Following Friday's meet, McNeese will run at the SLC Championships on November 1 in New Orleans.
