Lumberjacks defeat Cowgirls; Kelly breaks second program record

LAKE CHARLES – McNeese fell to Stephen F. Austin 3-0 in its return to Cowgirl Field Friday night while seeing goalkeeper Jackie Kelly break a program record for goalie appearances.

Coach Quote: "I thought our girls came out with some grit and some battle to them. I think we had a good gameplan in the first half and did a good job with the exception of one shot and created not a lot [of shots], but enough to give ourselves a chance. I thought they made some good adjustments at halftime and we had to play catch up to their adjustments and that's kind of what caught us."

• SFA's Jayme Bailey scored the first goal of the match at 4:23 off an assist by Maddie Bowers.
• Maddie Bowers scored the second goal of the match in the second half at the 60:42 mark with Jayme Bailey on the assist.
• Caelynn January scored the third and final goal for the Lumberjacks with an assist by Alexa Alvarez with less than eight minutes left to play.
