LAKE CHARLES-- McNeese volleyball picked up another Southland Conference sweep Tuesday night with a 25-14, 26-24, 25-18 win over Nicholls to improve to 6-10 overall and 2-2 in the SLC. Nicholls falls to 6-9 on the season and 1-3 in league play.

The Cowgirls will turn around and play two teams they played at home last week. McNeese will travel to New Orleans for a 6:30 p.m. match Thursday. The Cowgirls defeated UNO in straight sets in Lake Charles last Saturday.

McNeese will conclude its three-match week with a 12 p.m. match at Southeastern on Saturday. Both matches will stream on ESPN+.

SET 1
• McNeese opened the set by taking a 5-2 lead then extended it to 13-6. During the scoring run,
Lauren Fuller served for six straight points.
• With the Cowgirls leading 17-9, McNeese outscored Nicholls 8-5 the rest of the way to win the opening set 25-14
• McNeese hit .387 for the set with 16 kills and 15 digs

SET 2
• For the second straight set, the Cowgirls took a 12-6 lead then led 16-11
• Nicholls slowly chipped away at the lead going on a 7-1 run to take a 23-21 lead
• Both teams traded the next two points and Nicholls led 24-22.
• McNeese overcame two set points to tie the set at 24 apiece on a Nicholls error
• The Colonels would commit two more hitting errors that allowed McNeese to come away with a 26-24 win and a two-set lead

• McNeese opened the set by winning the first two points and never looked back
• Several mini runs allowed the Cowgirls to extend their lead to 19-11
• The Cowgirls would end the set and the match on a Nicholls serving error

• McNeese picked up 48 kills with 45 being assisted
• The Cowgirls out dug the Colonels 51-34 and out blocked them 11-7

McKenzie Moore led all player with 20 kills, her fourth match this season with 20 or more kills

• Schooley ended the match with a .632 hitting percent with 12 kills in 19 attempts without committing a hitting error.
