TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – McNeese will take a major step up in competition on Monday when it visits second-ranked Alabama for its only game of the week.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Alabama's Coleman Coliseum. The game will be televised live on the SEC Network and also streamed on ESPN+. Fans can listen to Bruce Merchant with the call on the McNeese Radio Network (92.1 FM).

The Cowboys (1-1) are coming off a 111-57 win over Biblical Studies last Thursday to win its 19
th-straight home game. Alabama (2-0) defeated Arkansas State 88-79 in its last game on Friday.

This will be the fourth meeting in the series with Alabama holding a 3-0 advantage. The teams last met in the 2001-02 season with Alabama winning by a scores of 90-61.

Alabama is the highest-ranking team McNeese has faced since opening up the 2013-14 season at No. 2 Michigan State.

The Cowboys' starting five will be the same as the season opener against South Dakota State with
Alyn Breed,
Javohn Garcia,
Brandon Murray,
Christian Shumate and
Joe Charles.

Garcia is coming off a 21-point game against CBS, two off his career-high. Breed, who scored 18 in the opener, missed that game for precautionary reasons. Also in that contest,
Sincere Parker scored 20 points while
Quadir Copeland scored 17, DJ Richards 13, Charles 12 and
Bryant Selebangue 10.

Breed and Garcia top the team in scoring with an 18.0 average. Parker is adding 12.5 per game, Richards 11.0 and Shumate 10.0.

The Crimson Tide All-American Mark Sears leads the way in scoring with a 19.5 average. He scored 19 points with five rebounds and two assists in Friday's win.
