VB: Cowgirls Keep Tournament Hopes Alive With Win Over Lamar

LAKE CHARLES-- McNeese volleyball kept their Southland Conference Tournament hopes alive Thursday night with a straight set 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-20) win over Lamar to improve to 10-17 overall and 6-9 in the SLC. 
 
Seniors McKenzie Moore, Kendall Osgood, and Bailey Tillman led the Cowgirls in the victory. Moore led McNeese with her 10th double double of the season.  Moore finished the match with 13 kills, 12 digs and picked up four of the seven Cowgirl aces.  Kendall Osgood and Bailey Tillman both picked up a match high 15 digs apiece.  Sophomore Megan Grose dished out a match high 36 assists
 
With the loss, Lamar falls to 14-13 overall and 6-9 in the SLC.
 
Following Thursday's results, McNeese, Lamar, and East Texas A&M all enter the regular season finale with a 6-9 conference record and will be vying for the last two tournament spots come Saturday.
 
McNeese will host Stephen F. Austin at 1 p.m. Saturday on Senior Day.  Seniors Taylor Thomas, McKenzie Moore, Lacie Schooley, Kendall Osgood, and Bailey Tillman will be honored approximately 20 minutes prior to the match.
 
 
POST MATCH NOTES
McKenzie Moore picked up her 10th double double of the season with 13 kills and 12 digs
• Moore was credited with four of the seven Cowgirl aces
Kendall Osgood and Bailey Tillman led all players with a match high 15 kills apiece
Megan Grose led all players with 36 assists
Leilani Goggin hit .429 on the night with seven kills, 14 attempts and one error.
• McNeese hit .270 for the match and Lamar hit .271
• Lamar was led in kills by Lyric Jordan who also finished with 13 kills
• McNeese will recognize its five seniors (Taylor Thomas, McKenzie Moore, Lacie Schooley, Kendall Osgood, and bailey Tillman approximately 20 minutes before Saturday's 1 p.m. match.
