MONROE—McNeese women's tennis wasted little time in its 4-0 win over UL-Monroe Monday to improve to 7-1 on the season.
 
The Cowgirls took the early lead by winning the doubles point with a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles and a 6-1 win at the No. 3 doubles.
 
Arina Gamretkaia and Anastasija Adeikyte remained undefeated at 7-0 in doubles with their win 6-0 over Tamara Bachmann and Angela Del Campo at No. 1.
 
Tiana Fox and Aina Domingo-Bernabeu defeated Raquel Alvaro and Mariam Hatem at the No. 3 doubles to give the Cowgirls a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
 
Bernabeu put the Cowgirls up 2-0 with her 6-1, 6-1 singles win over Hatem at the No. 2 singles.  A 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6 by Ariane Monlleo-Sanchis put McNeese up 3-0 before Fox's 6-0, 6-1 win over Bachmann at the No. 5 singles clinched the match.
 
McNeese will host Grambling this Thursday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m.  The match was originally scheduled to be played in Ruston last week but was rescheduled due to weather.
