LAKE CHARLES-  McNeese women's tennis defeated Grambling 7-0 Thursday, improving to 8-1 on the year and extending its winning streak to six matches. 
 
The Cowgirls picked up all its wins in straight sets, dropping only seven games on the day.
 
The Cowgirls opened the match by winning the doubles point following wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
 
Arina Gamretkaia and Anastasija Adeikyte improved to 8-1 on the year with a 6-0 win over Jovana Latinovich and Claire Machisa at the No. 1 doubles.  McNeese No. 2 doubles team made up of Emma-Lou Pommiers and Ariane Monlleo-Sanchis defeated Taku Mawisire and Ekaterina Dziova 6-1 to win the doubles point and a 1-0 overall lead.
 
Natalia Ballo gave the Cowgirls a 2-0 lead with her straight set win at the No. 5 singles.  A straight set win by Pommiers at No. 2 put McNeese up 3-0 and Tiana Fox sealed the win with her straight set win at No. 4.  Sanchis and Adeikyte also won their matches in straight sets.
 
McNeese will travel to Huntsville, Texas this Sunday for a 12 p.m. match.
