McNeese falls to Arkansas in series finale

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - In the series finale, McNeese Baseball fell to second-ranked Arkansas 18-5 Sunday afternoon at Baum-Walker Stadium. The Cowboys fell to a .500 record at 8-8 while the Razorbacks rose to 13-2.

Senior Braden Duhon overtook the team's longest hitting streak, moving up to seven games on the season, hitting 1-for-2 in the series closer.

Senior Parker Stroh put the Cowboys on the board in the fourth inning with a solo shot to right field, marking his first homer of the season.

McNeese took advantage of a four-run inning in the fifth inning to take a 5-4 lead before the Razorbacks regained the lead in the latter half.

The Cowboys let off the fifth inning with a double, single, and a walk to load the bases as junior Conner Westenburg stepped to the plate. He drive in the second run of the game by putting the ball in play. Cooper Hext, a senior, triple down the right field line to tie up the game 4-4 two RBIs. Hext would then come home to score on a follow up single.

McNeese continues its road trip against Southern on Tuesday afternoon as part of a seven-game road stretch.
