THIBODAUX—McNeese women's tennis team extended its winning streak to 11 matches and improved to 13-1 on the year and 2-0 in league play with a 6-1 Southland Conference win at Nicholls Saturday.
 
The Cowgirls took the early 1-0 lead by winning the doubles points, picking up wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.  The No. 1 doubles team of Arina Gamretkaia and Anastasija Adeikyte improved to 13-1 on the year while the No. 3 doubles team of Tiana Fox and Aina Domingo- Bernabeu improved to 8-1 on the year.
 
McNeese then picked up five of the six singles matches.  Adeikyte remained undefeated at 12-0 with her 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 win at No. 3 singles.  Also picking up singles wins was Gamretkaia at No. 1, Bernabeu at No. 2, Emma-Lou Pommiers at No. 4, and Fox at No. 5.  Gameretkaia improved to 8-1, Bernabeu won her third singles match of the season, Pommiers improved to 11-1, and Fox improved to 9-1 on the year with their wins.
 
The Cowgirls return home on Monday, March 11 for a non-conference 1 p.m. match against Missouri State.  Missouri State will enter the match with a 7-4 record and have won four of their last five matches, coming off a 4-3 loss at SIU Edwardsville.
