HOUSTON, Texas-- McNeese beach volleyball was eliminated from the Southland Conference Tournament Saturday with a 3-2 loss to Southeastern, ending the Cowgirls' inaugural season on the sand.
McNeese ends its season 3-22 overall and a 1-6 conference record.
The Cowgirls took an early 2-0 lead with wins at flights two and four where
Rylee Lansing and
Kendall Osgood defeated Mia McKinney and Alexis Logarbo 21-19, 23-21 at flight 2 for a 1-0 lead.
Harlee Tupper and
Ella Swansiger gave the Cowgirls a 2-0 lead with their three set 21-19, 14-21, 16-14 win over Makayla Hicks and Erin Engel.
Southeastern (13-18, 4-4) tied the match by winning flights five and three. The Lions' No. 1 flight of Rachel Hartmann and Andrea DaSilva defeated McNeese's
Gracey Janes and
Carissa Chainey in three sets 21-16, 17-21, 15-7 to clinch the match.
