LEXINGTON, Ky. – The McNeese beach volleyball program has been recognized for its excellence in the classroom, earning the 2025-26 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, the organization announced Thursday.
The award is presented to programs that maintain a year-long team grade-point average of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale.
The Sandy Pokes have earned the honor in each of the first three seasons of the program's existence, continuing the team's tradition of academic success.
McNeese also received the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll for the second consecutive season, recognizing the program as one of just 11 NCAA Division I beach volleyball teams to rank among the top 20 percent nationally in team GPA. The Cowgirls concluded the 2025-26 academic year with an impressive 3.83 team GPA.
