McNeese track and field closed out the regular-season portion of its schedule on this weekend with most of the team competing at the ULM Warhawk Classic while a couple of middle-distance runners ran at the LSU Invitational.
 
At ULM, McNeese posted eight first place finishes with six of those coming from the Cowgirls. In addition, eight personal records were broken while six season best marks where set.
 
• For the Cowgirls, Blanche Beard won the javelin event for the seventh time in eight outings this spring after throwing 163-8, her second-longest throw in her career.
• Mariah Lee threw season-best 193-5 to win the hammer throw for her sixth victory on the season.
• Sakari Famous took first place in the high jump after clearing 5-9.25.
• On the track, Jeny Barcenas recorded a personal record while winning the 5,000-meters with a time of 17:16.48… that time vaulted her to a No. 2 ranking in the Southland Conference in the event.
• Kayla Warner won in the 800-meters for the first time this spring after timing out at 2:12.13.
• Irene Barreiro-Lopez captured her first career individual win after running a 4:45.98 in the 1500-meters.
• Other PRs for the Cowgirls were Madison Freeman, 142-07 in the hammer; Zur'Najah Poullard, 5-7 in the high jump; Sydnie Cooley, 140-0 in the javelin; Addisyn Bonsall, 135-11 in the javelin.
• The 4x100 relay team made up of Makayla Heath, Kayla Harrison, Latavia Jack and Tia Andrews, ran a season-best time of 45.63 which is the third-fastest in the league.
• For the Cowboys, Hunter Longino won the javelin event with a mark of 213-03.
• Jaden Powell won the 400m hurdles with a PR time of 52.21 which is No. 2 in the SLC rankings… it was his first win in the hurdles this season.
• PRs for the Cowboys were Tyson Green, 11.00 in the 100m; Christian Malbreaux, 11.53 in the 100m.
• Cowboys who clocked season bests were Colby Trahan, 53.37 in the 400m; Tyler Challis, 182-11 in the hammer.
• The 4x100 relay team of Koen Beavers, Jaden Powell, Kalen Beavers and Jalon White, clocked a season-best time of 40.47 which ranks them fifth in the league.
