LAKE CHARLES – McNeese Cowgirl track and field champion
Morgan Talley has been voted as the 2024 Southland Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Student-Athlete of the Year, the league office announced on Thursday in conjunction with the release of the indoor/outdoor all-academic teams.
Talley, the SLC Women's Outdoor Athlete of the Year, captured gold medals at the conference championships in the heptathlon, long jump and triple jump, and placed third in the 100-meter hurdles.
She posted a perfect 4.0 grade point average and recently earned her master's degree in curriculum and instruction.
Talley is one of 10 McNeese track and field student-athletes (eight female, two male) to be named to the 2024 SLC Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team.

Joining Talley in earning their master's degree are Carter and Gilroy while Harrison and Longino received their bachelor's degree.
