With the threat of weather from Hurricane Francine moved further to the east and away from Southwest Louisiana, McNeese football's preparation for Saturday's Southland Conference opener at home against Stephen F. Austin was uninterrupted as the Cowboys were able to get onto the practice field Wednesday morning.

McNeese and Stephen F. Austin will kick-off at 7 p.m. in Cowboy Stadium.

The Cowboys (1-2) are coming off a 52-10 loss at Texas A&M while SFA (1-1) fell 35-20 at North Texas last Saturday.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams since the 2019 season when McNeese won 33-10 at SFA.

McNeese holds a 21-15-2 lead in the series that will hold its 40
th all-time meeting on Saturday.
