LAKE CHARLES-- McNeese volleyball suffered a five-set loss (15-25, 25-18, 15-25, 25-22, 15-12) to Incarnate Word Friday on the first day of the Cowgirl Classic. The loss drops the Cowgirls to 2-5 on the year while UIW improved to 6-2 with the win.
McNeese will face Florida A&M (6-2) at 12 p.m. Saturday to conclude tournament play. The Rattlers defeated UIW in four sets in the opening match of the tournament on Friday.
Fans planning on attending Saturday's match are asked to park in the F.K. White Middle School parking lot located East of the Legacy Center.

• With UIW leading 5-4, McNeese went on a 5-0 run behind
Kendall Osgood's serve to take a 9-5 lead
• Another run by the Cowgirls extended the lead to 15-7
• Kills by
Naterah Moore and
Kayla Wilson aided by a UIW attack error gave McNeese a 20-10 lead.
• Moore ended the set with a kill
Set 2
• The set went back and forth for the first 13 points before UIW went on a 6-1 run to lead 13-7.
• The Cowgirls got as close as 20-16 on a Morgan Schooley kill
• UIW closed out the set by winning five of the last six points
Set 3
• Another close set to start but six straight points off
Megan Grose's serve put the Cowgirls up 13-6 and McNeese never looked back on its way to the 25-15 win to take a 2-1 match lead.
Set 4
• McNeese held a 12-6 lead but a 4-0 run by UIW pulled them to withing two points
• With the Cowgirls leading 20-19, UIW finished the set on a 6-3 run to win the set and even the match at two sets apiece.
Set 5
• UIW opened the set by scoring the first four points before
Megan Grose's kill put McNeese on the scoreboard.
• McNeese put together a scoring run after trailing 4-1 to tie the set at six apiece on a kill by
McKenzie Moore.

Kayla Wilson's kills gave McNeese an 11-10 lead but the Cowgirls gave the point back on the next play on a hitting error to even the set at 11 apiece.
• McNeese would go on to commit three more errors, giving UIW a 14-11 lead before a Calissa Allison's kill ended the match for the UIW win.
