EDINBURG, Texas – The McNeese soccer program took on UTRGV for the first time as Southland Conference opponents as the squads fought to a 2-2 tie at UTRGV Soccer Complex Sunday afternoon.

Coach Quote: "We did a great job battling back today. Lots of players sacrificed a lot playing on one day less rest than our opponent who was playing at home. Nonetheless, we found a way to get back in the game. We still have to figure out how to start games, but the commitment and willingness to complete are there so we are getting closer."

•  Dom Ducal earned her second goal of the season off an assist by Mandi Boudreaux, her second on the 2024 campaign.
• Isabelle Smith was the second Cowgirl to earn her second goal of the season with Karlyn Judge also earning her second assist with the Pokes.
• Both goals by the Pokes were scored by players subbing in off the bench.
• McNeese out shot UTRGV in the first half 6-3 with three and two shots on goal respectively.
• UTRGV ended the match with 13 shots to McNeese's 11. Each squad took five shots on goal.
• Riley Hicock made her second collegiate appearance for 17 minutes of play.
• Jackie Kelly earned three saves during the match.
• Jackie Kelly, Morgan Schooley, and Anouk Linders have played 360 consecutive minutes.

How It Happened:
• Rubi Ortiz earned the first goal of the match for UTRGV 11:02 into the meeting.
• In the 12^th minute of action, Bianca Butler earned the Vaqueros' second goal with an assist by Rosie Tran on a corner kick.
• Dom Ducal cut the lead in half with a goal at the 23:44 mark with an assist by Mandi Boudreaux.
• Isabelle Smith sent in the match-tying goal in the second half in the 61^st minute of play off an assist by Karlyn Judge.
