LAKE CHARLES – McNeese track and field will host its only college indoor track and field meet of the season on Thursday and Friday with the McNeese Indoor and Multis at the Ralph Ward Recreation Complex on campus.
 
The women will do the pentathlon events on Thursday starting at 11 a.m. with the 55-meter hurdles followed by the high jump, shot put, long jump and 800-meters.
 
On Friday, events will get started at noon with the women's weight throw and men's shot put. Running events will begin at 4 p.m. with the mile run.
 
A total of 21 men's and women's teams are entered. Those include: Carroll CC, Dillard (M/W), LeTourneau (M/W), Loyola-New Orleans (M/W), McNeese (M/W), Nicholls (M/W), Northwestern State (M), Southern (M/W), Southwestern Texas (M/W), Southwestern Christian College (M), Tulane (M), Victoria College (M), Xavier, La. (M/W).
 
"We're looking forward to hosting nearly 1,500 athletes with both the college and high school meet. We'll have around 300 college athletes then 1,200 for the high school meet that will include high schools from Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi."
 
The high school meet will take place on Saturday.
