NATCHITOCHES— McNeese head women's volleyball coach
Sasha Karelov picked up her 50
th career win Wednesday night, guiding the Cowgirls to a straight set 3-0 (25-21, 25-20 25-23) Southland Conference win over Northwestern State.
McNeese, who improves to 6-13 overall and 2-5 in the SLC, ended the match with a season high .368 hitting percent behind 47 kills and tied a season low with 12 hitting errors.
For the sixth straight match, senior
Kayla Wilson recorded double figure kills and led all players with 16. Wilson also ended the match with a .407 hitting percent, her second-best hitting percent this season.
The loss for Northwestern State is their 20
th consecutive loss this season, falling to 1-20 overall and 0-7 in the SLC. The straight set loss is the 17 of the season, and the Lady Demons still haven't won a set in conference play.
McNeese will return home Saturday to host East Texas A&M. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
