LAKE CHARLES—McNeese volleyball suffered a five set (25-18, 25-19, 22-25, 19-25, 15-17) Southland Conference loss to East Texas A&M Saturday.
McNeese (6-14, 2-6 SLC) opened the match by taking the first two sets for an early 2-0 lead, but the Lions' (6-13, 4-4 SLC) defense stepped up in the next two sets to even the match at two sets apiece.
The third set went back and forth at the beginning until ETAM took an 11-7 lead. Trailing 14-12, McNeese scored three straight points to take a 15-14 lead. ETAM evened the set at 15 on a kill by Zoe Ruskofsky then took advantage of two McNeese errors to win the set and the match.
