LAKE CHARLES – McNeese Vice President and Director of Athletics Heath Schroyer has announced a $1.25 million corporate sponsorship, which will be paid over five years, with Boudreaux's New Drug Store to the McNeese Athletic Foundation.
The sponsorship adds to the record number of corporate sponsorship dollars Schroyer has signed in his five-year tenure as McNeese's Athletic Director--several partnerships each worth over a $1 million.
"This commitment from Boudreaux's New Drug Store and owners Jesse and Kylee Vidrine is one of the largest financial sponsorships McNeese Athletics has received," said Schroyer. "I've gotten to know the Vidrines over the past few years and their commitment to this community is admirable. They say their company mission is 'caring for people' and this contribution is proof that they practice what they preach."
The sponsorship will include logo placement on each side of the playing surface on Joe Dumars Court, the home court of the two-time Southland Conference regular season and tournament champion Cowboys, and the new and improved Cowgirls.
"Growing up in Southwest Louisiana, McNeese basketball has always been part of my life," said Jesse Vidrine, president and co-owner. "Some of the best memories are cheering on the Cowboys with friends and family. To see the Boudreaux's logo on the court is deeply personal. It's a symbol of how far we've come as a company and how strongly we remain connected to home. As we continue to grow across the country, we never want to feel too big for the community that gave us out start. Supporting McNeese is our way of saying 'Thank You' and of investing in the next generation of leaders right here in Southwest Louisiana."
Said Kylee Vidrine, pharmacist-in-charge and co-owner: "Our mission as a company is caring for people, and that commitment lives well beyond the walls of our pharmacy. Giving back to McNeese and to the community that trusts us with their health is a natural extension of what we do every day. Whether we're compounding a custom medication or supporting local students and athletes, our focus is always on serving our neighbors. No matter how much Boudreaux's grows, Southwest Louisiana will always be at the heart of our work."
"The Vidrines share our vision and passion for growing both McNeese State University and Southwest Louisiana," said Schroyer. "Deals like this one continue to transform our athletic department; it's how we grow."
