Houston, Texas — McNeese Cowgirl Soccer (4-10-4, 3-4-2) suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 loss on the road against Houston Christian (8-8-2, 3-4-2) Sunday afternoon.
The opening half was a defensive battle from both sides, with a combined 14 shots taken and seven fouls committed. Both goalkeepers were tested early, combining for five saves to the match scoreless heading into halftime.
The second half continued at high intensity, featuring another 14 shots, eight fouls, and one caution. Despite several strong defensive stands from the Cowgirls, the Huskies capitalized in the 90
th minute of play when Jasmine Diaz and Paisley Barela combined to set up Ella Remy for the match-winner, sealing a 1-0 victory for HCU.
