Lake Charles —McNeese Cowgirl Soccer (4-11-4, 3-5-2) concluded their 2025 regular season campaign with a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Southeastern Lions (6-7-4, 5-3-2) on Senior Day at Cowgirl Field Thursday night.

The Lions struck first in the 28^th minute when Isabella Fregoso connected with Brooke Opferman to give Southeastern a 1-0 advantage that held through halftime

In the 66^th minute, a McNeese miscue allowed the Lions to extend their lead to 2-0. The Cowgirls continued to battle, showing resilience late in the match. In the 86^th minute, Sydney O'Shea found Dom Ducal, who converted to bring McNeese back within one.

Despite the late push, the Cowgirls were unable to find the equalizer as Southeastern held on for the 2-1 victory.
