LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese Cowboys remained at No. 22 in his week's CollegeInsider Men's Mid-Major Top 25 poll released on Monday afternoon.
The Cowboys, 3-1 on the season, went 2-0 in last week's slate of games, capping with an 88-62 blowout win over Louisiana-Lafayette in front of a record home crowd in Townsley Law Arena.
Gonzaga tops the poll for the third straight week followed by Saint Mary's, Liberty, Yale and Miami (OH) to round out the top five.
Santa Clara, who defeated the Cowboys on Nov. 7, is ranked 10
th and Southland Conference foe New Orleans is ranked 25
th. Next week opponents Murray State and Middle Tennessee are receiving votes as is Stephen F. Austin and Lamar.
McNeese will be back in action on Sunday when it goes up against George Washington at the Cayman Islands Classic.
The Cowboys will enter that game ranked No. 2 in the NCAA in scoring with a 103.5 average, second only to Will Wade's NC State Wolfpack who is averaging 106.0 ppg.
McNeese leads the nation with 54.5 bench points scored per game, led by freshman
Larry Johnson who is 10
th individually in scoring with a 24.3 average.
The Cowboys are ranked in the top 10 in the country in six other team stat rankings – scoring margin (2

In addition to ranking 10
th in the NCAA in scoring, Johnson leads the nation in free throw shooting, knocking down all 29 of his attempts. He's 14
th with 97 total points scored and is 15
th in field goal shooting at 73.3 percent.
Garwey Dual is ranked 40
th in the nation with 23 total assists, 48
th with 5.8 assists per game, and 51
st with a 4.60 assist/turnover ratio.
McNeese leads the Southland Conference in 19 team stat categories.
