HOUSTON, Texas—McNeese beach volleyball ended day one at the HCU Third Coast Classic Saturday with a 1-1 record.
The Cowgirls began the 2025 season with a 5-0 loss to No. 15 Texas before ending a day that had several weather delays with a 3-0 win over Sam Houston.
In the win over Sam Houston, the No. 4 pair consisting of Bethanie Durant and McKenna Malone defeated Audrey Terry and Ella Folse 21-13, 21-9 for the first Cowgirl point of the match and the season.

McNeese took a 2-0 lead when Cowgirls No. 3 pair Jackie McGee and McKenzie Moore defeated Abby Clayton and Bella Wood 21-10, 21-11.
The match was clinched when the Cowgirls No. 5 pair made up of Luciana Chuong and Harlee Tupper defeated Kenedy Miller and Lylah Washington 21-12, 21-12.

McNeese will face UTEP at 8:30 a.m. and Central Arkansas at 1 p.m. Sunday to close out tournament play.
