HOUSTON, Texas—For the second straight day, McNeese beach volleyball posted a 1-1 record on Sunday, the final day of the HCU Third Coast Classic to end its opening weekend with a 2-2 record.

McNeese began Sunday's action with a 3-2 loss to UTEP before ending tournament play with a 3-2 win against Central Arkansas.

The Cowgirls took a 1-0 lead with a Bethany Durant/McKenna Malone 21-15, 25-23 win at dual 4. UTEP then went on to win the next three duals to clinch the match.  Kendall Osgood and Rylee Lansing picked up the other Cowgirl point of the match with a three-set 18-21, 21-19, 15-12 win at dual two.   

Osgood and Lansing's three set win (21-18, 14-21, 17-15) at dual two was the match clincher in the 3-2 win over Central Arkansas.  The match was a back and forth battle all the way to the final match with each team taking turns taking the overall match lead.

UCA took a 1-0 lead with a win at dual 5 before Bethanie Durant and Harlee Tupper tied the match at one apiece with a three set (16-21, 21-15, 15-6) win at dual 4.

McNeese's win at dual 3 where Jackie McGee and McKenzie won their match in three sets (13-21, 21-15, 15-11) to put the Cowgirls up 2-1.
UCA evened the match at two apiece with a three-set dual 1 win, setting up for the final match left on the sand to decide the match in which Osgood and Lansing won to claim the win.

McNeese will host its own Cowgirl Beach Bash Friday, Feb. 28- Saturday, March 1 at South Beach.
