LAKE CHARLES – McNeese baseball (8-1, 2-0 SLC) claimed its third series of the season in a 2-1 victory over Nicholls (5-6, 0-2 SLC) to clinch the three-game series at Joe Miller Ballpark ahead of Sunday's finale. The Cowboys are off to their best start in over two decades with the Pokes last starting 8-1 during the 1993 campaign.

Both squads exchanged blows early with the Colonels taking the first run of the game in the first followed by McNeese tying up the game in the second. Junior
