LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's tennis picked up its first Southland Conference win of the season Monday with a 7-0 win over Incarnate Word.  The Cowgirls won all seven matches in straight sets.
 
With the win, the Cowgirls improve to 13-3 overall and 1-2 in the SLC.  UIW falls to 3-7 overall and 1-1 in the SLC.
 
McNeese opened the match by winning the doubles point with wins on court 1 and 3 for a 1-0 lead.
 
Stella Rundova's win on court six and Ana Hollweg on court two gave the Cowgirls a 3-0 advantage.  Erica Hagi clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-3 win on court two.  The final three McNeese points were won by Salome Fluri, Alexa Martinez and Elena Morales on courts one, four and five, respectively. 
 
The Cowgirls will remain home to host Tarleton State next Tuesday, March 18 in a 2 p.m. match.
