BEAUMONT, Texas---  Jadan Muñoz's two run homerun in the fourth inning was all the Cowgirls needed in its 2-0 win over Minnesota in a game that was played at Lamar Softball Complex Tuesday.
 
The Gophers threatened in the seventh inning when they loaded the bases with no outs but Cowgirl reliever Ryann Schexnayder got Tinley Easton to strikeout and Jae Cosgriff and Sydney Schwartz to pop out to end the game.  
 
With the win, McNeese improves to 14-12 overall while Minnesota falls to 11-13 on the season.
 
The Cowgirls collected four hits in the game and was led by Kassidy Chance who went 2 for 3 at the plate.  Muñoz and Rylie Bouvier had the other Cowgirl hits.
 
The Gophers picked up five hits off three Cowgirl pitchers.  Kadence Williams improved to 2-4 on the season while Schexnayder picked up her first save of the season.
 
McNeese will travel to Louisiana Tech Wednesday for a 6 p.m. game before returning home to host Northwestern State in a three-game SLC series beginning with a single game Friday at 6 p.m. and will end with a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday.
