AUBURN, Ala.--- McNeese softball fell 7-0 to Rutgers Sunday morning on the final day of the Jane B. Moore Memorial. The loss drops the Cowgirls to 11-9 on the season.
Rutgers (8-13) didn't waste any time scoring as they held a 4-0 lead after two innings with a single run in the first and three in the third.
After the next four scoreless innings, Rutgers tacked on three more runs in the seventh for a 7-0 lead. The Scarlet Knights picked up 11 hits off four Cowgirl pitchers.
McNeese's offense was held to three hits (all singles) from
Kassidy Chance,
Samantha Mundine, and
Bailey Davis.
Alexis Dibbley took the loss after allowing four runs on five hits in 1 1/3 innings. Dibbley falls to 1-1 on the year with the loss.
McNeese will travel to UL-Monroe on Tuesday, March 4 for a 6 p.m. game before hosting South Alabama at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5.
