LAKE CHARLES—McNeese beach volleyball will travel to Thibodaux this weekend for the Southland Conference Midseason Tournament that will be hosted by Nicholls.
McNeese (8-6, 1-1 SLC) defeated Nicholls at the Cowgirl Beach Bash for its only conference win of the season so far while their conference loss was at Stephen F. Austin last weekend.
The Cowgirls will play six matches in three days and will open tournament action against Southeastern (4-10, 2-1 SLC) at 9 a.m. Friday morning. The Lions defeated the Cowgirls 4-1 in a non-conference match on March 5. McNeese will conclude its first day of matches against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (7-8, 2-0 SLC), who has won the SLC Tournament the past three seasons.
McNeese will face San Jose State (4-12, 1-1 SLC) at 11 a.m. Saturday and Boise State (6-9, 2-0 SLC) at 3 p.m. that afternoon.
The Cowgirls will end tournament play with an 11 a.m. match against Houston Christian (5-11, 0-2 SLC) and UNO (2-14, 0-0 SLC) at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
The No. 2 doubles team made up of
Kendall Osgood and Rylie Lansing lead the Cowgirls with a 10-5 record on the season and enter the weekend on a three-match winning streak.
