LAKE CHARLES- McNeese women's tennis defeated New Mexico State 4-2 here Thursday to improve to 14-4 overall in a match that wasn't originally on the Cowgirl schedule but was added due to a cancelled match.

New Mexico State (11-6) picked up the doubles points to take the early lead. McNeese won the first three singles matches to take a 3-1 lead.Â
Salome Fluri, Ariane Monlleo-Sanchis, and
Stella Rundova all won their matches in straight sets.Â

After a New Mexico State win on at the No. 2 singles,
Alexa Martinez defeated Dora Kurdi in three sets to clinch the match. Â

McNeese will return to Southland Conference play this Saturday when the Cowgirls travel to Hammond to face Southeastern. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
