LAKE CHARLES- McNeese women's tennis defeated New Mexico State 4-2 here Thursday to improve to 14-4 overall in a match that wasn't originally on the Cowgirl schedule but was added due to a cancelled match.
 
New Mexico State (11-6) picked up the doubles points to take the early lead.  McNeese won the first three singles matches to take a 3-1 lead.  Salome Fluri, Ariane Monlleo-Sanchis, and Stella Rundova all won their matches in straight sets. 
 
After a New Mexico State win on at the No. 2 singles, Alexa Martinez defeated Dora Kurdi in three sets to clinch the match.  
 
McNeese will return to Southland Conference play this Saturday when the Cowgirls travel to Hammond to face Southeastern.  First serve is set for 1 p.m.
