WBB: Guzzardo Announces Four More Additions

LAKE CHARLES—After announcing nine of her Southeastern players will follow her to McNeese on Monday, head women's basketball coach Ayla Guzzardo announced the addition of four more players for the 2025-26 season on Wednesday.
 
The four include Three Rivers Community College transfer A'Yiana Flemings, Parkway High's Dakota Howard, and Huntington High's Jamar'i Bell and Carley Hamilton.
 
Flemings, the native of New Orleans (Ursuline Academy) played one season at Three Rivers CC where she helped her team to the NJCAA Tournament quarterfinals. Flemings she started in 17 games and averaged 4.5 ppg. and 4.4 rpg.
 
"A'Yiana is a someone we have had our eye on for a while," said Guzzardo. "We are thrilled about her joining us back in Louisiana and bringing experience and maturity to our team. She will
bring a lot to our front court next year."
 
Howard won two state championships at Parkway High where was a three-time all-district selection and district MVP as a senior.  She averaged 23.0 ppg., 10.0 rpg., 7.0 spg., and 4.0 apg. as a senior.
 
"Dakota is special. Watching her throughout high school has been fun and we know her best basketball is ahead of her. She is a dynamic forward that can defend all positions. She will thrive in our system, and we look forward to seeing her in blue and gold."
 
Bell and Hamilton led Huntington High to the school's first state title this season and both were McDonald's All-American nominees. 
 
Bell ended her career with over 1,250 career points and 500 career rebounds.  The four-time all-district pick was named X Factor Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
 
"Jamari has believed in our program for awhile and she is a winner and knows what it takes to win. She can play on both ends of the floor and will be solid for us at McNeese."
 
Hamilton averaged 21.1 ppg., 5.5 rpg., 4.0 apg, and 4.0 spg. as a senior.  The three-time all-district selection was named the state MVP and was the state championship game MVP. 
 
"Carley is a true competitor.  "I'm excited that she has chosen to be apart of our Cowgirl family. Carley is a combo guard that has the ability to score in bunches. She has phenomenal work ethic and leadership capabilities and I'm sure Lake Charles will love watching her represent."
