LAKE CHARLES – Aaron Castete, a McNeese graduate and Lake Charles native, has been named Director of Marketing for McNeese Athletics, Vice President and Director of Athletics Heath Schroyer has announced.
 
"I'm so elated to have Aaron join our team," said Schroyer. "I've watched Aaron grow from afar the last few seasons and love his passion and his outside the box thinking. He's extremely organized and has a level of professionalism that I was hoping to find in this role. He will be a fabulous addition to our team and I couldn't be more excited."
 
The past two summers, Castete has worked as the Director of Operations for the Lake Charles Gumbeaux Gators summer league baseball team where he played a key role in building the organization from the ground up from launching the team's brand identity to overseeing sponsorships, marketing, social media and gameday operations.
 
He was named the 2025 Sports Partner of the Year at the Legacy Awards, presented by Visit Lake Charles, an honor that celebrates professionals who make meaningful contributions to the region's tourism industry through cultural programming, community development, and event leadership. His efforts with the Gators were recognized as the major driver of local sports tourism and entertainment.

A graduate of St. Louis Catholic High School where he was a member of the baseball team, Castete earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from McNeese in 2024.
