LAFAYETTE – McNeese Soccer (1-2-1) dropped its in-state rivalry match to UL-Lafayette (2-1-0) on Sunday night, falling 3-0 at the Home Bank Soccer & Track Complex.

The Ragin' Cajuns opened the scoring in the 24th minute when former Cowgirl Salma Elhaimer found the back of the net off a setup from Sophia Moore, giving the home side a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.

Despite holding strong for much of the second half, the Cowgirls couldn't hold off the Cajuns attack late. Briana Henry doubled the lead in the 81st minute, and Maiya Clark sealed the win with a goal in the 87th, putting the match out of reach.
