Cowgirls Battle Weather and North Texas in 4-0 Loss

Denton, Texas – McNeese Cowgirl Soccer (1-3-1) dropped their road match Thursday night against North Texas (3-2-0).

The evening began with weather delays before warm-ups could start. Teams first took the field at 7:15 p.m. but were cleared again at 7:28 p.m. due to inclement weather in the area. After an additional 77-minute delay, the match finally kicked off at 8:45 p.m.

North Texas opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Claire Niedermeier found the back of the net off assists from Lily Cunningham and Mia Bernard. The Mean Green carried the 1-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Rydlii Rives extended the advantage in the 53rd minute, finishing a setup from Niedermeier. Four minutes later, Mia Bernard struck for the third goal, assisted by Payton Annis, to make it 3-0.

Summer Brown added the final tally in the 87th minute, sealing the 4-0 victory for North Texas.
