LAKE CHARLES – McNeese Cowgirl Soccer (1-6-2) suffer their third straight loss in their home match Thursday night, falling 3-1 to Sam Houston (3-3-1) at Cowgirl Field.
The Bearkats wasted no time in getting on the board, as Indigo Sims scored in the opening minute of the match. Just seven minutes later, Tiana Johnson assisted Jasmine Dybala in the 8
th minute to give Sam Houston an early 2-0 advantage. 
McNeese responded in the 14
th minute when 
Rhiannon Maynes-Tourond set up 
Elizabeth Edomwonyi, who netted her first collegiate goal to cut the deficit in half. The Bearkats held a 2-1 lead heading into halftime.
In a highly physical match that saw five yellow cards issued and 20 total fouls committed, Sam Houston added to its lead in the 51
st minute. Gianna Gomez capitalized on another assist from Johnson, her second of the night, to seal the 3-1 victory.
