Nacogdoches, Texas – McNeese Cowgirl Soccer (1-7-2, 0-1-0) fell 4-0 in their Southland Conference opener against Stephen F. Austin (3-2-5, 1-0-0).
The Lumberjacks struck early and often, jumping out to a 2-0 lead within the first eight minutes. Alex Bayouth opened the scoring in the 5th minute, finishing off a setup from Brielle Buchanan. Just three minutes later, Sydney Williams doubled the lead with a goal assisted by Alexis Miller and Logan Heausler.
Stephen F. Austin continued to press, and in the 21st minute, Bryn Geppert found the back of the net off a feed from Miller to send the Lumberjacks into halftime with a commanding 3-0 advantage.
The final goal came in the 65th minute, as Heausler capped off the scoring with a goal assisted by Avery Brandt, sealing the 4-0 victory for SFA.
