LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball will begin official practice on Tuesday, September 23 in the Legacy Center. The Cowgirls will hit the floor at 7:15 a.m. in preparation for the 2025-26 season. All Cowgirl practices will be closed to the public.
"We are always excited to start official practice," said first year head coach
Ayla Guzzardo. "We know that we're getting close to playing someone else other than ourselves. We have a good bit of new faces with our team, so it's been a lot of teaching and learning but super competitive so far. We are ready to ramp it up a little bit with official practice starting."
It's an exciting time for Cowgirl basketball who will working towards its season opener against Pensacola Christian College on Nov. 3.
The 2025-26 team consists of 10 transfers, three freshmen and one returner from the 2024-25 team.
