LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball (11-4, 5-1 SLC), now in first place in the SLC standings following Thursday's games, enter Saturday's game against Southeastern looking to extend its winning streak to four games. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. at the Townsley Law Arena.
Saturday is also Cajun Heritage Day which will feature the Lake Charles Toyota Tailgate and a jambalaya cook-off, all beginning at noon on the east side of the arena.
The Cowgirls has won eight of their last 10 games and will look to snap a nine-game losing streak against Southeastern. The last McNeese win over Southeastern was an 80-72 win in Hammond on Jan. 20, 2021. The last home win over Southeastern was a 62-56 win on Jan. 19, 2019

Dakota Howard continues to lead the team in scoring with 12.1 ppg., steals (39), and is tied for a team high in total rebounds (76). She is tied for second on the team with 5.1 rpg. and has scored in double figures in 11 of 15 games this season including 10 out of last 12 games. She is averaging 16.0 ppg. in conference games

Lexi Alexander leads the Cowgirls in rebounds with 5.9 per game.
• Jalencia Pierre has a team high 56 assists (4.0 apg.) and is second on the team with 31 steals. She leads the SLC and ranks 31st in the nation in assist/turnover ratio (2.67).
• The Cowgirls have received votes in the College Insider Top 25 Poll six times this season.
• The six non-conference wins are the most for a Cowgirl team since the 2015-16 season and its the most wins prior to the end of December since the 2017-18 when that team also won six games.
• All three non-conference losses came against P4 teams (2 from the Big 12 and one from the SEC).
