LAKE CHARLES – McNeese women's beach volleyball (5-1) went undefeated on day one of the Cowgirl Beach Bash picking up wins over Sam Houston and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
In match one of the day against Texas A&M-Kingsville (4-1), the pair of
McKenna Malone and
Isabella Giarla clinched the match point for the Cowgirls for the 3-2 win. That win will go down as the first win over TAMUK in program history.
In the second match of the day against Sam Houston (0-7) the duo of
Reese Russell and
Bethanie Durant clinched the match point for the Cowgirls for the 4-1 win over the Bearkats. This is the fifth consecutive win over the Bearkats in program history
The Sandy Pokes will be back in action Saturday as they take on Mary Hardin-Baylor at 10:30 AM and New Orleans at 2:30 PM.
