LAFAYETTE – McNeese completed its competition at the ULL Louisiana Classics on Saturday with several top three finishes and a couple of wins by Jaslyn Russell in the women's shot put and Lawson Fritsch in the men's pole vault.
 
Russell threw a season-best mark of 48-11.75 in the shot, winning by more than four inches. Fritsch matched a season-best after clearing 15-7.
 
Russell placed third in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 168-5 and Fancy Jelagat placed third in the women's 800m after clocking a personal record time of 2:13.42.

The Cowgirls' 4x400m relay team placed third after running a season-best time of 3:49.04.
 
The Cowboys had two other top three finishes on the day, Amire Ledet in the triple jump and Tanny Beard in the javelin throw.
 
Beard placed second with a throw of 194-11 while Ledet was third with a jump of 46-11.5.
