| By:

LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese Cowgirls beach volleyball team continued its historic season on Saturday, splitting a pair of matches at the Sandy Poke Invitational to move to 16-5 overall and 4-2 in Southland Conference play.

McNeese opened the day with a gritty 3-2 victory over Tarleton State, marking its third consecutive win over the Texans. The No. 1 pair of McKenzie Moore and Kendall Osgood secured the clinching point to seal the team win.

Between duals, the Sandy Pokes honored seven seniors—Jolie Savoie, McKenna Malone, McKenzie Moore, Luciana Chuong, Kendall Osgood, Bethanie Durant, and Marisa Armer—for their contributions and impact on the program.

The Cowgirls closed the day against Southeastern in a non-conference matchup, falling 3-2 in a tightly contested battle.

McNeese returns to action next Friday at the Sandy Boot Scoot, hosted by Stephen F. Austin. The Cowgirls will face Sam Houston at 1 p.m. before taking on SFA at 3 p.m. in non-conference play.

Following their performance at the midseason tournament, McNeese earned the No. 3 seed in the 2026 Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Championship—the highest in program history. The Cowgirls will open tournament play against No. 6 seed Stephen F. Austin on Wednesday, April 22 at 11 a.m. in Corpus Christi, Texas.
