SB: Cowgirls Travel To Nationally Ranked LSU On Tuesday

LAKE CHARLES—  McNeese softball (35-18) will conclude its regular season at No. 20 LSU (33-16)  on Tuesday, April 28.  First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at Tiger Park.  The game will stream on SECN+.  The Tigers defeated the Cowgirls 9-3 in Lake Charles on Feb. 24 in the first meeting of the season.
 
McNeese will carry an eight-game winning streak into the game and are coming off a Southland Conference series road sweep over East Texas A&M that allowed the Cowgirls to finish second in the SLC race.
 
LSU has won five of its last seven games and are coming off an SEC series road loss at Mississippi State over the weekend.
 
Kassidy Chance leads the Cowgirls at the plate with a .423 batting average, is tied for a team high 52 hits with 27 RBI, six doubles, and two triples.
 
Maddie Taylor and Corine Poncho lead the team with nine homeruns apiece while Alexis Dibbley has a team high 16 doubles.  Rylee Cloud leads with 43 RBI and is tied for a team high 52 hits.
 
Maddie Taylor leads the pitching staff with 14 wins (14-4) while Brookelyn Taylor leads the staff with a 2.99 ERA, 87 strikeouts, 114.2 innings, four saves and is 12-6 overall.
 
The Tigers are led at the plate by Jalia Lassiter and Kylee Edwards who both have a .338 batting average. Lassiter also leads the team with 51 hits, 10 doubles, and 52 runs scored.  Tori Edwards leads with 12 homeruns and Edwards has 10.
