SB: Cowgirls Fall At No. 13 Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas— No. 13 Texas A&M Aggies scored six runs in the third inning on its way to an 11-1 softball run-rule win over McNeese here Wednesday night.

McNeese falls to 23-17 overall while Texas A&M improves to 27-12 with the win.

The Cowgirls were held to two hits in the game, a double by Kassidy Chance in the third inning and a leadoff single by Maddie Taylor  in the fourth inning.
The Aggies picked up nine hits off four Cowgirl pitchers.  Starter Kadence Williams took the loss, falling to 2-1 on the season.  Williams allowed six runs on five hits in 2.0 innings.  Brookelyn Taylor allowed two runs on two hits in one inning.  Kynlei Chapman allowed three runs on one hit without recording an out and Ryan Schexnayder allowed one hit in one inning in the circle.

McNeese took the early lead in their first at bat of the game when Maddie Weeks drew a one out walk, stole second and scored on an Aggie error.

The Aggies responded in the bottom of the inning with a towering two-run homerun by Mya Perez to take a 2-1 lead and never looked back.

Texas A&M blew the game open with six runs in the third on four hits and one McNeese error to extend the lead to 8-1.  The Aggies tacked on three more runs in the fourth on two hits to lead 11-1.

McNeese will return to Southland Conference action when they will travel to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for a three-game series beginning Friday.
