McNeese track and field posted several meet records at Saturday's ULM Warhawk Classic in the final tune-up before the May 14-16 Southland Conference Outdoor Championships while four others ran at LSU in an attempt to better their season-best marks.
 
A total of three meet records were broken by McNeese at ULM – two by the Cowboys and one by the Cowgirls. In addition, there were nine first place finishes and 19 personal records broken.
 
Sullivan Hanna won the men's 1500m with a personal best and meet record time of 3:58.33. Tanny Beard won the javelin event with a PR and meet record mark of 197-1 and in the men's pole vault, Lawson Fritsch won the event after clearing 16-0.
 
On the women's side, Jaslyn Russell won the shot put event for the third straight meet and fourth on the season after setting a new meet record with a throw of 50-2.5. Fancy Jelagat won the 800-meters with a personal best and meet record time of 2:12.62. Gabriele Andrews won the 200-meters with a time of 25.01 while Rylee-Kai Challenor captured first place in the 3000-meters with a PR time of 10:50.19.
 
Nyla Hicks broke a personal record in the long jump with a first place mark of 19-1.25 and Cameron Weber broke a meet record in the pole vault with her first place mark of 10-11.75.
 
At LSU, Samuel Serrano Borrego placed fifth in the men's 800m (1:52.50) while in the 1500m, Omer El-Fadl finished fifth (3:47.92) and Gregory Martin 11^th (3:52.09). For the Cowgirls, Uxue Castro-Martin placed eighth in the 1500m (4:30.50) while Jeny Barcenas finished eighth in the 3000m steeplechase (10:52.60).
