HUNTSVILLE, Texas— McNeese volleyball dropped its final match of the Sam Houston Bearkat Invitational with a 3-0 (25-13, 26-24, 25-16) loss to Sam Houston.
Ava Henry led the Cowgirls with 11 kills and a .562 hitting percent. Henry committed only two errors on 16 attempts.
After picking up a career high 13 digs against Cal State Fullerton yesterday,
Sophia Tocmo bettered her career high with 18 digs in the match.
Sam Houston was led by Chloe Monson's 14 kills and a .429 hitting percent.
McNeese (0-3) will travel to UL-Lafayette next Tuesday for a 6 p.m. match.
Set 1
• With the score tied at three apiece, the Bearkats went on an 11-1 run to lead 14-4
• Cowgirls struggled on offense and ended the set with a .029 hitting percent while Sam Houston hit .303 for the set.
Set 2
• Cowgirls jumped out to a 6-1 lead and extended its lead to a 13-7 lead
• McNeese went on a run to take a 21-16 lead
• Sam Houston then outscored the Cowgirls 7-2 to tie the set 23 apiece

• The Bearkats then scored three straight points on a kill and two Cowgirl errors to win the set
Set 3
• Sam Houston opened the set by taking a 12-6 lead behind seven straight points off the serve of Avery Pruitt
• The Bearkats continued to apply pressure and took advantage of Cowgirl errors to extend its lead to 20-11
• Sam Houston eventually won the match on a McNeese serving error
