HUNTSVILLE, Texas – McNeese Cowgirl soccer (5-4-0) dropped its final non-conference game of the season Sunday afternoon, falling 1-0 to Sam Houston (3-2-3).
The first half was a defensive battle as the Cowgirls outshot the Bearkats 9-6. Both goalkeepers recorded five saves in the opening 45 minutes as neither team was able to find the back of the net.
The Bearkats would break through in the final 10 minutes of play when Siera Herbert found Ashtyn Magnuson for the lone goal of the game in the 81st minute.
