BATON ROUGE - The McNeese Cowboys cross country team dominated at the LSU Twilight Cross Country Relay Invitational with two-man relay teams finishing in the first four spots to help it run away with the team title here Friday evening.
 
The pairing of Diarmuid Moloney and Ryan McCarthy ran an 8k time of 24:38.0 to win the event and beating out the teammate paring of Ethan Gioko and Gregory Martin who clocked a 24:53.2. Third place went to the McNeese pairing of Carlton Rotich and Daniel Aboagye who ran a 25:02.3. Ander Camacho Rodigues and Samuel Serrano Borrego finished fourth with a time of 25:27.7.
 
In the women's 6k relay, the Cowgirls finished behind LSU and Nicholls in the team scores. The pairing of Uxue Castro-Martin and Rylee-Kai Challenor was the top Cowgirl team to finish, coming in third with a time of 20:12.7.
 
The McNeese runners will be back in action on Sept. 26 when it hosts the Cowboy Stampede at the Enos Derbonne Sports Complex.
