RUSTON – McNeese Cowgirl soccer (5-3-0) picked up a 1-0 road victory over in-state opponent Grambling (1-4-1) Sunday afternoon, marking the most wins in a season for the Cowgirls since 2023.
Sumayah Brown scored the lone goal of the match in the 16th minute, finding the back of the net off an assist from
Rhiannon Maynes-Tourond to give McNeese a 1-0 lead that would hold for the remainder of the match.
The Cowgirls outshot the Lady Tigers 13-9, including a 7-4 advantage in shots on goal.
The victory also marked McNeese's second consecutive shutout, with the Cowgirls holding both Louisiana Tech and Grambling scoreless during their current four-match road swing.
